2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography launched in India, What’s new?

Land Rover has introduced the 2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography in India, bringing the top spec version of the luxury SUV closer to buyers. The biggest change this time is that the model is now being locally assembled, which makes it more accessible than before. Prices start at around Rs 1.60 crore, and bookings are already open.

The Autobiography badge has always stood for the most premium version in the Range Rover lineup, and this new model continues that approach. What buyers get here is not just a cosmetic upgrade, but a noticeable step up in comfort, features, and overall experience.

On the outside, the changes are subtle but effective. The SUV continues with its familiar design, but gets new colour options and large alloy wheels that give it a more refined look. It still carries the same strong road presence that the Range Rover Sport is known for, but with a slightly more polished finish.

Inside the cabin is where the biggest upgrades are felt. The Autobiography version focuses heavily on comfort, especially for both front and rear passengers. There are fully adjustable seats with heating and ventilation, along with improved materials and finish across the cabin. Rear passengers also get powered seats and added comfort features, making it more suited for long distance travel.

The feature list is extensive. It includes a large touchscreen system, premium sound setup, rear seat entertainment screens, and four zone climate control. There is also all wheel steering and air suspension, which improve both ride quality and handling, especially on highways and rough roads.

Under the hood, the SUV is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. These are supported by mild hybrid technology, which helps improve efficiency and smoothness. For those looking for more performance, a V8 powered version is also available, though it continues to be brought in as a fully imported model.

One of the key highlights this time is the local assembly of the Autobiography variant. Earlier, buyers had to opt for imported versions, which made the SUV significantly more expensive. With local production, the pricing becomes more competitive within the luxury segment.

Overall, this update is less about changing the SUV completely and more about making the top end experience more accessible. It brings together performance, comfort, and technology in a package that is clearly aimed at buyers looking for a premium SUV without stepping into even higher price brackets.

With this launch, Land Rover is strengthening its position in the luxury SUV space, offering a more complete and refined version of an already popular model.
